Unlike traditional vacuum cleaners, all contaminated surfaces will be vacuumed with a HEPA vacuum to trap the mold spores while releasing clean air, unlike traditional vacuum cleaners. Next, a professional will spray and wipe down the once contaminated surface with microfiber cleaning cloths.

Traditional mold remediation methods typically take around seven days, depending on the scope and severity of the problem. However, this doesn’t mean you’ll return to normal life within a week.

Although most policies will not offer universal cover against mold, most insurers will offer a mold-insurance clause as an optional extra (for a fee, of course). All-in-all, prevention is the safest way to save the cost of mold removal.

No. Mold can’t just be wiped off. It is imperative that the mold is properly cleaned or scrubbed away and that the area is dried thoroughly. Doing so will assist mold growth since the dampness remains.

If your home insurance company agrees to pay your water damage claim, chances are  they will pay at least some of your mold remediation costs.

While mold removal is the process of removing the mold, it does not address identifying the source. However, mold remediation centers on all actions taken to combat mold infestation and return mold levels to the point that is not dangerous to the health of inhabitants and the building’s structure.

Cutting into moldy drywall causes mold spores to become airborne and spread. Since mold cannot be completely removed from drywall, the drywall must be removed and replaced. A professional is recommended for this process.

There is no general guideline for how much mold exposure is harmful. The effects of mold exposure manifest differently in each person. For people who have asthma, are allergic to mold, or have weakened immune systems, just a small amount of exposure can be harmful.
